Forum: forums Subject: Flash Player Codec Question

Does anyone know what the flash player supports for a codec? When I embed it uses the .mp4 file. When I tried to encode a .wmv into a .mp4 with the mpeg4 codec, the flash player would not play the video.

So my question is this. What does the flash player require as a codec that ends with .mp4?

Is there any software out there (thats free) that will auto encode it for you to play in the flash video? The quality right now from archive encoding a 900 meg file into a 22 meg file makes the resolution horrid.

Thanks.
